Sharp Criticism of Union Management After Defeat to Al-Nassr
Saturday 27-09-2025
Journalist Ali Al-Omari considered that the crisis of Al-Ittihad Club is not limited to the technical aspect alone, but goes beyond that to the weakness of the sports management led by Ramon Planes, affirming that they bear full responsibility for the team's decline.

Al-Omari pointed out that the problems include physical and medical aspects, as some players suffer from recurring injuries or difficulty regaining their levels after returning, such as Hossam Awar, Karim Benzema, Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti, Ahmed Sharahili, and Hassan Kadsh.

He explained that the team lacks diversity in ideas and strategies, as it relies on only one style, making it difficult to cope if that idea fails during critical matches or against major opponents.

The journalist confirmed that this situation reflects the existence of an unstable sports system, lacking a clear vision and strategy, which raises many questions about the club's future and its ability to compete continuously.

For his part, French coach Laurent Blanc has led the team in seven matches since the beginning of the season, achieving four victories against three defeats, during which Al-Ittihad scored 13 goals, while keeping a clean sheet only twice.

In terms of championships, Al-Ittihad lost the Saudi Super Cup to Al-Nassr and stumbled in the opening of its campaign in the AFC Champions League against Al-Wahda of the UAE, but it qualified for the Round of 16 of the King Abdulaziz Cup, gathering nine points out of 12 in the Roshan League.

This trajectory reflects a mix of partial successes and significant failures, making the team in need of addressing weaknesses and achieving administrative and technical stability to ensure consistency in results during the upcoming challenges.
