Press sources confirmed that Oscar Ruiz, head of the main referees committee of the Egyptian Football Association, received approval from the Spanish Football Federation to nominate a crew to officiate the summit match between Al Ahly and Zamalek.

According to the sources, the Football Association is still hesitant about the idea of using a crew from Spain, especially since the match between Al Ahly and Pyramids in the league was also officiated by Spanish referees.

The Football Association has requested Oscar to continue communicating with European federations, specifically Italy and Germany, to nominate a crew of elite referees, especially after the federations of England and France declined to send a refereeing crew from their side.

Reports revealed that the Egyptian Football Association is awaiting responses from these federations, and there are solutions to resort to Latin America and Mexico to nominate a crew from there, provided that Al Ahly agrees.
