Ahmed Al-Marzouqi, the former president of Al-Ahli Jeddah, attacked the Professional League Association after Al-Raqi's loss to Pyramids in the Intercontinental Cup.

Al-Ahli suffered a defeat against Pyramids with a score of 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the three continents cup.

Al-Marzouqi stated in remarks to the 'Al-Riyadiyah' newspaper: 'It would have been more appropriate to postpone Al-Ahli's match against Al-Hilal in the third round of the Roshan Saudi League, which took place last Friday.'

He explained: 'The fatigue that exhausted our players throughout the ninety minutes against Pyramids was evident; we saw exhaustion affecting some stars, which led to this harsh loss and the loss of the title.'

He continued: 'There are other reasons that Yasir fully bears responsibility for, such as involving the Brazilian winger Wenderson Galeno at the start of the match despite his injury, which forced him to leave before the end of the first half, and the weakness in the back defense line was the open gate for Pyramids' continuous attacks throughout the 90 minutes.'

He added: 'The level displayed by Al-Ahli in this final did not even deserve a draw; we thank God that the match ended with a loss by just three goals, otherwise the disaster would have been greater.'

He concluded: 'The Al-Ahli fans were present in large numbers from early hours, but unfortunately they left saddened by the loss of the title.'
