Police and Al-Zawraa Ensure Their Asian Matches in Baghdad
A close source from the administrations of Police and Al-Zawraa confirmed that their matches in the Asian Champions League and the Asian Champions League 2 will be held in the capital Baghdad, after fulfilling all the observations requested by the Asian Football Confederation.
The source explained that the Police administration officially contacted the continental federation regarding the completion of the technical requirements at Al-Zawraa Stadium before the deadline set on September 23, as reported by the official newspaper.
He added that both clubs agreed to implement the main observations related to the pitch, substitution board, sound systems, and screens, in addition to raising the cleanliness level in the seats and entrances, emphasizing that the Police administration committed to preparing Al-Zawraa Stadium to appear in the best possible condition during the upcoming continental matches.
The source concluded by indicating that the holding of the match between Al-Kahraba and Erbil at Al-Zawraa Stadium seems unlikely at the moment, until the maintenance work is fully completed.
