The Spanish referees committee has announced the appointment of Miguel Ángel Ortiz Arias to manage the match between Oviedo and Barcelona in the sixth round of La Liga, scheduled for tomorrow, with Valentín Pizarro taking on the role of Video Assistant Referee.

Referee Ortiz Arias has officiated three matches this season so far, including the match between Real Betis and Alavés in the second round, then the encounter between Girona and Sevilla in the third round, and finally the match between Valencia and Athletic Bilbao last week.

His last appearance with Barcelona was in April when he officiated the Catalan team's victory over Real Mallorca with a score of 1-0. The upcoming match against Oviedo will be the eleventh match he has officiated for Barcelona in the league, where the team has achieved seven victories, two draws, and only one loss against Almería in the 2022/2023 season.

As for Oviedo, Ortiz Arias has officiated five matches for them before, but this will be his first in the top division, with their record under him being three victories, one draw, and one loss, the last being a win against Sporting Gijón in the April 2021 derby.
