History of Egyptian and Saudi Club Encounters
Tuesday 23-09-2025
The "Al-Inma" Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah hosts a strong match between Al-Ahli Saudi and Pyramids FC today, Tuesday, as part of the Intercontinental Club Cup competition.

It is worth noting that Pyramids qualified to play in the final match of the Intercontinental Cup after defeating Auckland City from New Zealand with a clean three-goal victory in the first round of the global tournament.

Meanwhile, Al-Ahli Jeddah participates for the first time in the Intercontinental Cup after winning its first title from the AFC Champions League in 2025.

Al-Ahli, led by its German coach Matthias Jaissle, is looking to achieve victory over Pyramids and win the cup, benefiting from the home ground and the strong presence of fans in the stands of the "Al-Inma" Stadium.

Historically, Egyptian clubs have recorded a significant superiority in their previous encounters against their Saudi counterparts, especially in the FIFA Club World Cup.

On the other hand, Al-Ahli Jeddah has not faced any Egyptian team before, and the same applies to Pyramids, which has become a strong competitor to the Egyptian football giants, Al-Ahli and Zamalek.

Saudi clubs have faced Al-Ahli Egyptian in three editions of the FIFA Club World Cup since 2005.

Al-Ittihad defeated Al-Ahli with a clean goal scored by Mohammed Noor in the 2005 FIFA Club World Cup.

Al-Ahli Egyptian won against Al-Hilal with a clean four-goal victory in the third and fourth place match of the FIFA Club World Cup 2021.

In the end, Al-Ahli managed to defeat Al-Ittihad with three goals to one in the 2022 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup.
