The former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper managed to outperform Alisson Becker, Yassine Bounou, Thibaut Courtois, and Yann Sommer.
The Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon announced Donnarumma's victory and presented him with the award during the ceremony currently taking place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in the French capital, Paris.
Donnarumma had shone remarkably in the previous season with the Parisian team.
It is worth mentioning that Donnarumma joined the ranks of English club Manchester City this summer.
