Upamecano Sets Sights on Real Madrid
Sunday 21-09-2025
The Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that French defender Dayot Upamecano of Bayern Munich has set his sights on a transfer to Real Madrid and has offered himself to the royal club, as his contract with the Bavarian team nears its end.

The newspaper clarified that Real Madrid has become the preferred destination for many stars who prefer to wait until the end of their contracts before determining their fate, as was previously the case with David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Alexander Arnold.

Upamecano, who is 26 years old, is considered a key pillar in the defense of Bayern Munich and the French national team alongside his teammate Ibrahima Konate, who has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid. The French player’s name was previously associated with the royal club before his transfer to Bayern, and it seems he still dreams of taking the step to play at Santiago Bernabeu.

According to the report, Bayern Munich does not intend to repeat the scenario of difficult renewals as happened with Alphonso Davies, as they prefer to sell their players rather than lose them for free. However, with Upamecano, it seems that the situation has come too late.
