The third round summit of the Saudi Professional League witnessed unprecedented excitement, as Al-Ahly turned the tables on Al-Hilal, converting a three-goal deficit in the first half into a dramatic draw (3-3) in the match held on Friday evening at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah.

Despite his remarkable performance throughout the match, Moroccan international goalkeeper Yassine Bounou experienced a sad night, as he was close to keeping a clean sheet before his team's defensive structure collapsed in the final minutes.

Al-Hilal entered the match strongly, scoring three goals through Frenchman Theo Hernandez (12th minute) and Brazilian Malcom de Oliveira (24th and 41st minutes), while Bounou shone in the first half with crucial saves against attempts from Mahrez, Miu, and Ibanez.

However, the second half brought a different scenario, as Englishman Ivan Toney ignited the match with two late goals (78th and 87th minutes), before Turkish Merih Demiral delivered the final blow with a header in the first minute of stoppage time, denying Al-Hilal a victory that seemed within reach.

Despite Yassine Bounou's individual accolades between the posts, repeated defensive errors paved the way for Al-Ahly to snatch a valuable point, in a match that turned into a painful memory for the Moroccan goalkeeper.

With this draw, both teams raised their points tally to 5, dropping together to seventh place in the league standings.
