Latest Developments on Nawaf Al-Aqeedi's Condition
The Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" reported that Nawaf Al-Aqeedi, the goalkeeper for Al-Nassr's first football team, has completed his rehabilitation program from a muscle tear injury.
The source clarified that the medical staff at Al-Nassr has given the green light for Al-Aqeedi to join the team training starting Friday, in preparation for the match against Riyadh on Saturday in the third round of the Roshen Saudi League, while awaiting a decision from Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus regarding his inclusion in the match squad.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper missed the match against FC Istiklol Dushanbe in the AFC Champions League, as well as the match against Al-Khulood in the second round of the league, while he had started in the opening match against Al-Taawoun, preferred over Brazilian goalkeeper Pinto.
The goalkeeper sustained the injury during the Saudi national team's camp in the Czech Republic (August 31 – September 8), which prevented him from participating in the Green's training and their two friendly matches against North Macedonia and the Czech Republic.
