Barcelona and Spotify Discuss Sponsorship Renewal
Barcelona president Joan Laporta and vice president Javier Yusti held a meeting with a team from Spotify during the team's match yesterday against Newcastle in the first round of the Champions League group stage.
According to the Catalan newspaper "Sport", the meeting, which took place in the stands of St. James' Park, was attended by marketing director Marc Hazan and agent Darren Dean, along with several members of the club's board.
The newspaper added that the current contract, which extends until 2026, grants Barcelona €57.5 million annually. However, the ongoing negotiations aim to renew the agreement and raise the sponsorship value to €65 million per year.
Reports indicate that both parties are eager to continue their collaboration for a longer period, which enhances Barcelona's brand globally and supports Spotify's expansion plans in the football sector.
