Inzaghi Excludes Cancelo from Al Ahli Match Due to Injury

Italian coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to exclude Portuguese player Joao Cancelo from Al Hilal's squad for the match against Al Ahli on Friday, as part of the third round of the Roshen Saudi League, after he sustained a new injury during his Asian participation.

Cancelo had recently been injured in his team's match against Qatari club Al Duhail in the AFC Champions League, missing once again from the ranks of 'The Leader' during a challenging period with strong local and continental matches ahead.

This injury marks the fourth that the Portuguese defender has suffered since joining Al Hilal, as he has faced a series of long and recurring absences that have affected his continuity with the team.

Previously, Cancelo missed 52 days at the start of the season due to a muscle tear, before being sidelined again in March for about 46 days due to a thigh muscle injury.

The player also suffered a third injury in his leg that kept him off the field for eight days, allowing him to return quickly, but luck was not on his side for long after he sustained the latest injury against Al Duhail.

Cancelo's repeated absences have raised concerns among Al Hilal fans who were looking forward to benefiting from his vast experience in major matches, especially as the team faces crucial local and continental commitments this season.
