The Palestinian Union Calls for Sanctions on the Zionist Entity in Sports Forums

The Palestinian Football Association appreciates the recent solidarity positions expressed by many sports bodies, players, and fans around the world in support of the Palestinian cause and its people.

This came after the Norwegian Football Association's decision to donate the proceeds of its match against Israel for the benefit of Gaza, along with the stance of the former Prime Minister of Spain who refused to attend the "Spain – Israel" match, in a clear message that sports cannot remain silent in the face of injustice.

The crimes committed by Israel against Gaza and the Palestinian people, as well as the Palestinian sports community, constitute a blatant violation of the regulations of the International Football Federation (FIFA), the European Football Association (UEFA), and the Olympic Charter, which emphasize dignity, equality, and peace. In turn, Israel continues to violate these principles by killing athletes, destroying sports infrastructure, and depriving sports of its essence.

The Palestinian Football Association emphasizes the necessity for the relevant legal committees in FIFA and UEFA to take urgent and tangible steps against these violations. Furthermore, any complicity or silence from athletes and sports institutions supporting Israel constitutes a continuation of injustice and racism within the European sports system, and represents an unacceptable double standard, as Palestinians are deprived of rights granted to others.

The Palestinian Football Association reiterates that the systematic violations by Israel against Palestinian athletes and sports facilities – including killing, destruction, and movement restrictions – require decisive action. It is no longer acceptable for Israel to continue benefiting from the privileges of international sports participation while Palestine is denied its most basic rights.

Therefore, the Palestinian Football Association calls on FIFA, UEFA, and all international sports bodies to impose immediate sanctions on Israel and suspend its participation in all competitions until it adheres to international laws and human rights standards.

The Association also appeals to all international sports federations and players to bear their moral responsibilities and take clear stances, emphasizing that justice requires actions, not just words.
