Paris Saint-Germain opened their group stage campaign in the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League with a resounding victory over their guest Atalanta, winning 4-0 in a match held at the Parc des Princes during the first round.

The Parisian team started the match strongly, with Brazilian defender Marquinhos scoring the first goal in the third minute after a brilliant pass from Fabian Ruiz. In the 39th minute, Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added the second goal with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area following a remarkable run from midfield.

Just before the end of the first half, Bradley Barcola missed a penalty in the 44th minute, but that did not prevent Paris Saint-Germain from extending their lead at the start of the second half, as Portuguese Nuno Mendes scored the third goal in the 51st minute, and Gonzalo Ramos netted the fourth goal in the 90+1 minute.

Atalanta's players failed to find the back of the net throughout the match, ending the game with a clear advantage for the French team.

With this victory, Paris Saint-Germain raised their points tally to 3, temporarily topping the group standings, while Atalanta remained without points at the bottom of the table.
