Marcus Thuram Matches Historic Crespo Record in Champions League
The "Opta" statistics network announced that Marcus Thuram has become only the second player in Inter Milan's history to score a brace with headers in a Champions League match, after Hernan Crespo, who achieved the same feat on November 12, 2002, also against Ajax and in an away match.
This brace came during Inter Milan's match against Ajax Amsterdam, in the first round of the group stage of the 2025/2026 Champions League, where the Italian team is currently leading 2-0.
Thuram scored the first goal in the 42nd minute, before returning to add a second header in the 47th minute, giving Inter a clear advantage at the start of the second half.
