The Referee for the Match Between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille in the French League

The French Professional League has announced the appointment of referee Jérôme Brisard to officiate the top match of the fifth round of the French League between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled to take place next Sunday, September 21, at the Orange Velodrome.

This is the second clásico that Brisard will officiate in his career, having previously led the match between the two teams in September 2020, which ended with a 1-0 victory for Marseille at the Parc des Princes. During the current season, Brisard has officiated four matches across various competitions, issuing 23 yellow cards and two red cards.

Additionally, Rodri Bouquet has been appointed as the fourth official for the match, following days of controversy surrounding the officiating after the match between Rouen and Lyon, where Lyon player Anthony Rollo was not sent off despite a strong tackle, amidst significant debate regarding the referee's decision and the video technology.

In the same context, Stéphanie Frappart, the former official responsible for video technology in that match, will officiate the match between Monaco and Metz on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Bouquet's former assistants in the Rennes match, Hicham Zkrani and Aurélien Bertomeu, have been appointed to officiate the match between Brest and Nice next Saturday.
