French League Classic Without PSG Fans

French League Classic Without PSG Fans

Wednesday 17-09-2025
French authorities officially announced that the summit clash between Olympique Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled for next Sunday as part of the fifth round of the French league, will take place without the presence of PSG fans at the Orange Velodrome stadium.

The decision came after the National Authority for the Prevention of Riots in Stadiums (DNLK) classified the match as level five, which is the highest classification in terms of security risk, indicating serious threats to public order that require exceptional measures.

Although authorities previously allowed Paris FC fans to attend their match against Marseille in early August, they deemed the atmosphere still unsuitable for PSG fans to attend this sensitive match due to the heightened tension between the fans of both clubs.

Authorities confirmed that the principle of reciprocity will be applied in the return match, where Marseille fans will also not be allowed to attend the match at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

It is noted that PSG's recent European title has fueled tensions between the fans of the two teams, increasing the sensitivity and security risks of the match.
