Controversy Arises Over Salary Comparison Between Zamalek and Al-Ahly Players
Sports critic Amr Dardir stirred controversy by comparing the salary of Zamalek's Juan Al-Fina with Al-Ahly's star Ahmed Sayed Zizo.
Dardir said on Facebook: "I have a piece of information that honestly shocked me.. Juan Bezera, the 22-year-old, has a 4-season contract with Zamalek.. His salary is 350 thousand dollars, which is 17 million Egyptian pounds, meaning over the 4 seasons it totals 68 million Egyptian pounds."
He added: "Can you imagine Zizo alone wanted to renew for 100 million? Can you imagine that Zizo's contract with Al-Ahly is 120 million in one season?"
He continued: "Can you imagine Zizo in 3 seasons with Al-Ahly would earn 360 million Egyptian pounds in addition to advertisements?"
He concluded: "Honestly, thank you John Edward for this century deal and thank you Zizo for leaving the club."
