One Match Suspension for Haussen
The Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Football Federation announced the punishment of Real Madrid defender Din Haussen with a one-match suspension in La Liga, following his red card against Real Sociedad in the last round of the league.
According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", the decision came despite the appeal submitted by Real Madrid, which was based on the referees' committee acknowledging that the player did not deserve a direct red card, but only a yellow card.
The decision has intensified the controversy between Real Madrid and the Spanish Federation, especially after the royal club announced its intention to submit a complete file to FIFA regarding what it describes as "repeated refereeing errors" against it in La Liga.
The newspaper indicated that Real Madrid decided to escalate the case to the Appeals Committee in hopes of overturning the penalty.
Haussen will miss the match against Espanyol next Saturday in the fifth round of La Liga matches at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
