Tuesday 16-09-2025
Portuguese Jorge Jesus, the head coach of Saudi club Al Nassr, spoke at a press conference on Tuesday evening about the reasons for his departure from Al Hilal, revealing his ambitions with the global team during the current season.

Jesus explained that the failure to win the AFC Champions League was one of the main reasons that led him to leave Al Hilal, emphasizing that his current priority with Al Nassr is to win the Saudi league after a six-year absence.

The Portuguese coach added: "Since my arrival and my discussions with the Al Nassr management, the goal has been clear, which is the league. If I had to choose between the league and Asia 2, I would choose the league, while if it were Asia 1, it would be the first choice."

Jesus pointed out that the AFC Champions League 2 holds special importance, likening it to the Arab Championship that Al Nassr recently won, expressing his regret for the team's absence in the elite tournament due to various circumstances.

He confirmed that winning against Estiquol tomorrow represents the true beginning of Al Nassr's journey in the tournament, stressing that the presence of fans will be a significant motivating factor for the players as has been the case in previous matches.

Jesus also praised the promising player Angelo, explaining that he discovered a new position for him in midfield that better suits his abilities, noting that he is still in the process of exploring the team, as circumstances provide some players with more opportunities than others.
