English media reports have revealed that Newcastle United is monitoring Manchester United midfielder Kobe Mainoo in anticipation of making an offer for his transfer during the upcoming winter transfer window, should his absence from the Red Devils' starting lineup continue.

According to the reports, Mainoo expressed a desire to leave Old Trafford last summer after falling out of favor with coach Ruben Amorim, but Manchester United's management refused to let him go.

Newcastle's head coach, Eddie Howe, is among the prominent admirers of the 21-year-old player's abilities and may consider moving to sign him if his current situation in the team persists.
