Hausen Struggles with Defensive Flaws at Real Madrid
Monday 15-09-2025
Hausen is one of the most prominent signings of Real Madrid this summer, costing the 20-year-old Spanish international 60 million euros. Since the very first moment, he has managed to establish himself in the heart of the team's defense under the guidance of Xabi Alonso.

Hausen is characterized by his great ability to initiate attacks from the back and play aerial balls, which Real Madrid relies heavily on during set pieces. However, the player exhibits a significant defensive flaw regarding his handling of balls behind him and his speed when facing attackers.

The young defender has been sent off twice with direct red cards in just nine matches with Real Madrid, and both incidents were quite similar. The first was during the Club World Cup against Borussia Dortmund when Girassi managed to outpace him, prompting Hausen to hold him inside the penalty area, which led to his dismissal and a penalty being awarded.

The second red card was in the recent match against Real Sociedad at the Anoeta Stadium, where Oyarzabal outpaced Hausen, who then grabbed him and brought him down, resulting in a red card.

Hausen had previously missed the semifinal match of the Club World Cup against Paris Saint-Germain due to suspension, which negatively impacted Real Madrid's performance, leading to a heavy defeat.

Currently, Real Madrid is awaiting a decision from the disciplinary committee regarding Hausen's red card in the Anoeta match, with the club filing an official appeal hoping to overturn the red card, allowing the player to participate in the upcoming match against Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabéu.
