Media personality Ahmed Shobair revealed the latest developments regarding the new technical director of Al Ahly.

Al Ahly had dismissed Jose Ribeiro, the team's coach, and appointed Emad Nassar as the interim technical director for the team.

Shobair clarified that the list of candidates shows significant variation; while some coaches are close to signing, the chances of others have diminished. He emphasized that the Al Ahly management has set strict criteria for selecting the next technical director and that announcing the name of the new coach is just a matter of time.

Shobair added that negotiations are ongoing with Urs Fischer, but they have not reached a decisive stage.

He pointed out that part of Al Ahly's fans prefer to keep Emad Nassar in his position or hire an Egyptian coach, yet the prevailing trend within the red club is leaning towards choosing a foreign coach.
