Barcelona star Lamine Yamal spoke in a press interview about the secret of his strong personality, his ambitions for the new season, and the teams he considers competitors for the Champions League title.

Yamal said: "In football at the highest level, it is very important to believe in yourself and have a strong personality, always with humility, but with the awareness that you are at this level because you have what it takes to compete."

Regarding his mental preparation since childhood, he explained: "At La Masia, we were taught to be mentally prepared, and now I also work with professional specialists who help me; this is essential."

Yamal confirmed that wearing the number 10 jersey at Barcelona represents a special challenge for him, saying: "The number 10 has always been associated with taking responsibility, and I love that. I want to be ready for the important moments."

The young player talked about his relationship with his coach Hans Flick: "I talk to him a lot, and he gives me a lot of confidence. He tells me to enjoy, to be brave, and not to lose my essence as a player, which gives me great comfort on the field."

Yamal said: "I want to continue to develop and help the team with goals and assists, and to compete in all competitions."

Regarding the La Liga battle this season, he stated: "Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are strong teams, but if we do our job well, everything will depend on us."

Concerning the Champions League, he added: "Competing teams like Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain are always very strong."

Yamal spoke about the experience of being eliminated by Inter Milan last season: "In the Champions League, any mistake comes at a cost; we need to be more consistent and never lose focus."

Lamine commented on the anticipated return to Spotify Camp Nou, saying: "I imagine it filled with fans, and it will be a great stadium. I believe that returning to play there will give us a huge boost to compete."

Yamal spoke about his dream of winning the Ballon d'Or: "Winning it at the age of 18 would be amazing, but if it doesn't happen, I will continue to work with the same enthusiasm to improve day by day."

He also added about his international ambitions: "I dream of winning the World Cup; it would be something historic, but we have to take things step by step."

Regarding Adidas launching a special shoe with his logo, he said: "Designing a special logo for me at this age was something I never imagined; it is a symbol of all the effort I have put in since I was a child."

Lamine concluded his remarks by saying: "The shoe is comfortable and light, and it has a special character because it reflects my personality. I do not set a specific number of goals for myself, but I aspire to improve my numbers from last season."
