Al-Ghandour said via Facebook: "The Al-Ahly Board of Directors rejects Captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib's decision and calls on him to continue the journey and run for the upcoming elections."
On another note, Al-Ahly is preparing to face their counterpart Enppi next Sunday in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
