Ahmed Nagy, the former goalkeeper of Al Ahly, sent an emotional message to Mahmoud El Khatib, the president of the red club, after his decision not to run in the upcoming elections.

Nagy said via Facebook: "My dear brother, when I decided to retire from coaching, I informed you, but you entrusted me with overseeing the coaches and goalkeepers of the sector, and that was the case."

He continued: "Knowing that when I made that decision, I was aware that there are talents and cadres that can take my place, but for you to inform us that you will not run for the new elections was unexpected."

He added: "Our club still needs you to fulfill our dreams through you, dear brother and beloved one. You have taught us resilience, perseverance, and the pursuit of everything that can elevate our great club's entity."

He concluded: "I know your struggles, but how can we think of ourselves when we have devoted ourselves to the elevation of the entity? My dear brother, we will wait for you to give us instructions as is customary. We love you very much."
