Monthly Replacement for Benzema Against Al-Fateh
Sources revealed that French coach Laurent Blanc of Al-Ittihad has decided on a replacement for his compatriot Karim Benzema, the team's striker and captain, during the upcoming match against Al-Fateh.
Al-Ittihad announced last Tuesday that Benzema suffered an injury during team training, and as a result, he began a treatment program at the club's clinic.
It was later confirmed that Benzema would miss the match against Al-Fateh, as he undergoes a treatment and rehabilitation program to recover from the injury, and the duration of his absence from the team has not been disclosed until now.
Sources indicated that coach Laurent Blanc has settled on having Saleh Al-Shehri as a key player in the attack instead of Benzema.
Al-Ittihad is preparing to face Al-Fateh next Friday at the Al-Elm Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, as part of the second round of the Roshan Saudi Pro League.
