With the new season of the Iraqi Stars League 2025-2026 approaching, attention is directed towards the race for the league's top scorer, amid strong movements from clubs to strengthen their squads with distinguished strikers capable of making a difference.

The Iraqi audience hopes to witness exciting competitions this season among the league stars for the top scorer title, in light of new contracts and intensive preparations by the teams.

Khalaf Karim, the sports analyst, added: "Many teams have recruited distinguished strikers to enhance their attack. For example, Baghdad Municipality has signed Sofiane Feghouli, who has extensive experience in European pitches, while Al-Shorta has contracted with the Cameroonian striker Lionel Atiba."

Karim pointed out that the competition for the top scorer title will not be limited to new signings, saying: "I believe Ayman Hussein, the striker from Al-Karma, will be the league's top scorer this season, as he possesses the experience and ability to score consistently, which makes him the favorite in the goal race."
