Recent media reports have clarified the desire of Al Ahly club management to contract the Swiss coach Urs Fischer to take over the first team coaching position, succeeding the Spanish José Ribeiro.

According to a source within Al Ahly, Fischer is indeed one of the candidates on the list presented to the planning committee headed by Mokhtar Mokhtar for the coaching position.

The source explained that Fischer's agent is Dino Lamberti, the agent of former Al Ahly coach Marcel Koller, and they have been in contact to gauge the coach's opinion.

Sources emphasized that Fischer has expressed interest in taking over the coaching role at Al Ahly, but a final agreement has not been reached yet.

In the coming days, Al Ahly is expected to reach an agreement with their new coach, with a direction to finalize matters before the international break in October, while Emad Nassar continues to lead the technical team.
