Cooperation Approaches Signing Diabati
The management of Al-Taawoun Club has finalized its agreement to sign international Malian player Fousseni Diabati, coming from Lausanne Sport in Switzerland, on a contract that extends for two seasons with an option to extend for an additional season, according to a special source for 'Al-Riyadiya'.
The source clarified that the management of 'Al-Sukari Al-Qassim' is fully focused on closing the file of foreign players before the 10th of September, the deadline for the current summer transfer period in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Taawoun had previously strengthened its squad by signing French player Angelo Fulgini, in addition to activating the purchase option for Venezuelan player Rene Rivas after his loan period to Ittihad Kalba in the UAE, with a move towards a new attacking winger.
The club's management in Buraidah aims to finalize two additional foreign deals, alongside two local deals in the right and left-back positions, as part of a comprehensive plan to strengthen the team's roster.
Diabati is 29 years old and is a free agent after his contract with Lausanne ended last month. He has previously played for Ajaccio and Amiens in France, Leicester City in England, as well as Sivaspor and Trabzonspor in Turkey, and Partizan in Serbia.
During his time with Lausanne, Diabati participated in 67 matches over two seasons, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists. He also represented the Mali national team in 11 matches between 2023 and 2024 and was present in the last Africa Cup of Nations, with a market value of 1.2 million euros according to 'Transfermarkt'.
