The official website of Manchester City announced that the Dutch player Tijani Reinders won the Player of the Month award for August, following a strong start with the team since his arrival during the summer transfer window.

Reinders joined City in June 2025 from Italian club AC Milan on a contract that runs until the summer of 2030, and he delivered an impressive performance in his first matches in the Premier League, shining in the team's 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton, scoring one goal and assisting another.

The 27-year-old player scored his first goal in a City shirt after a brilliant pass from Oscar Bob, and then provided a fantastic assist for Erling Haaland, leaving his mark immediately with coach Pep Guardiola's squad.

Despite City's losses in the subsequent two matches against Tottenham and Brighton, Reinders maintained his good form, winning the vote over his teammates Erling Haaland and John Stones, who finished in second and third place respectively.

It is worth noting that Haaland scored two goals in the first three matches, while August marked the return of Stones after a difficult season due to injury.
