Al-Nassr Studies Its Final Options Before the Summer Transfer Market Closes
Monday 08-09-2025
Al-Nassr is contemplating the available options before the summer transfer market closes next Wednesday evening, amid complex issues related to the goalkeeper position, the defense line, and the possibility of securing a new foreign midfielder deal.

International goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi continues to pressure the coaching staff led by Portuguese Jorge Jesus for an opportunity to play as a starter this season, following his impressive performances in previous appearances.

Despite Al-Aqidi's desire, Jesus indicated that the primary reliance will be on the foreign goalkeeper Pinto in the Saudi league matches, while Al-Aqidi will mainly participate in the King's Cup, amidst a wave of criticism regarding Pinto's fluctuating performance.

Al-Nassr is awaiting a suitable offer for the departure of defender Abdul Ilah Al-Amri, who was loaned to Al-Ittihad last season, provided that the financial offer is attractive, coinciding with the club's efforts to purchase the contract of defender Abdullah Madu from Al-Ettifaq to strengthen the defense line.

The club has made a strong presence in the summer transfer market by signing French player Kingsley Coman, Portuguese Joao Felix, Spanish Inigo Martinez, alongside Haroun Kamara, Nader Al-Sharari, and rising Saudi talent Saad Al-Nasser, at a total cost of approximately 70 million euros.

Jesus continues to monitor the technical file for the foreign midfielder position, where Croatian Marcelo Brozovic has been performing strongly since the beginning of the season, which may lead the management to rely on him and not pursue additional deals, while the club considers the option of signing a young foreign goalkeeper to ensure defensive stability and gradually develop Al-Aqidi.

As the transfer window approaches its closure, Al-Nassr's management faces critical decisions, whether to maintain the current roster or finalize one last deal, which could determine the team's shape and its competition locally and continentally in the current season.
