Gavi's Possible Absence from the Match Against Valencia
Friday 05-09-2025
FC Barcelona is facing the possibility of young midfielder Gavi missing the match against Valencia scheduled for September 14, due to his ongoing knee pain, according to Spanish newspaper 'Sport'.

Gavi, who was sidelined for a year due to a serious injury, had shown promising performance during the pre-season preparations and had gradually participated positively in matches. However, the pain that returned over a week ago forced him to leave training and rest, with close monitoring from the medical and coaching staff regarding his health condition.

Hans Flick spoke about the player's condition in the press conference prior to the Rayo Vallecano match, which Gavi missed, saying: 'The plan is for him to be ready for the Valencia match. We will see how his condition develops; today is better than yesterday, we are optimistic.'

Despite this positivity, recent reports indicate that the player is still feeling discomfort, making his participation against Valencia uncertain, especially since the club does not intend to risk playing him before ensuring his full recovery.

Barcelona had previously announced that Gavi is experiencing discomfort in his right knee and will miss the Rayo Vallecano match, with his readiness for upcoming matches depending on the developments in his condition.

Gavi is expected to continue individual training at the Juan Gamper Sports City, with his condition to be evaluated definitively before the Valencia match, which has not yet been determined whether it will take place at Spotify Camp Nou or Johan Cruyff.
