According to the French newspaper "L'Équipe", Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe, captain of the French national team, intervened with the French Football Federation to cancel the idea of playing a friendly match against Argentina.

The federation was reportedly considering holding a friendly match between France and Argentina in March 2024, a move described as potentially yielding huge financial profits due to the popularity of both teams.

The source added that Kylian Mbappe warned of the risks associated with a long travel journey lasting more than 10 hours, especially given the pressure of matches during that period, which could affect the players' readiness.
