Portuguese star Rafael Leao is preparing to return to AC Milan after the international break, following his recovery from a muscle injury sustained at the beginning of the current 2025/2026 season.

Leao was a starter in the first official match under the management of Massimiliano Allegri, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Milan against Bari in the Coppa Italia, where he successfully scored the first goal before leaving the pitch quickly due to a minor calf injury.

Leao's absence forced the coaching staff to reshape the attacking line, with Santiago Gimenez and Christian Pulisic playing against Cremonese, and then Gimenez alongside Alexis Saelemaekers and Ruben Loftus-Cheek against Lecce.
