João Amaral Begins His Role at Barcelona

Portuguese João Amaral, the new head of the scouting department at FC Barcelona, has begun to outline a clear vision for his approach within the sports management after being appointed to succeed his compatriot Paulo Araújo, who moved to Porto to work with coach André Villas-Boas.

Amaral, who was hired by sporting director Deco, is considered one of the most significant appointments within the club this season, holding a strategic position aimed at strengthening the global talent scouting network, as the club looks to continue investing in emerging stars.

One of Amaral's first major decisions is his personal participation in the Under-20 World Cup, which will kick off at the end of this month in Chile, a tournament that the Barcelona management considers a key stop for discovering promising players, and he will be accompanied on this mission by one of the club's scouts.

The newspaper confirmed that Barcelona will continue to work on attracting young talents early from various parts of the world, with a particular focus on players from the African continent, given the previous success in this area.

Among the notable fruits of this work, which is coordinated directly with Deco, are the signings of Mika Faye, who has generated over 9 million euros in profit for the club in less than a year, and winger Rony Bardhi, whom Barcelona succeeded in signing despite interest from major clubs in the English league, and he now enjoys the confidence of coach Hans Flick.
