Alex Santos Leaves His Position as Communication Director at Barcelona
Wednesday 03-09-2025
Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' revealed that Alex Santos, the communication director at FC Barcelona, has officially ended his duties as of Wednesday, September 3, 2025, after four years in the position.

Santos, who is 60 years old, took on this role in May 2021, just two months after Joan Laporta won the elections, where he worked as the media director for the Estimem el Barca campaign. Prior to that, he held journalistic positions at the Spanish news agency EFE in the sports department and authored several books on the history of the Catalan club.

It is worth noting that the position had been vacant since January 2017, following the departure of Albert Roura, during which time both José Manuel Lázaro and Toni Ruiz took on media responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Josep Vives was the spokesperson during the previous administration led by Josep Maria Bartomeu.
