6 Hours Separate Al-Hilal from Deciding Marcos Leonardo's Fate

Wednesday 03-09-2025
Al-Hilal Club is preparing to hold a crucial meeting with Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo in the coming hours to determine his future with the team, according to sources from the Brazilian newspaper 'Globo'.

The transfer market in Brazil closes at 5:59 AM on Wednesday, Riyadh time, which leaves little time for São Paulo if they receive Al-Hilal's approval to complete the player's registration procedures.

Sources indicated that São Paulo Club still holds hopes of acquiring Leonardo on loan until the end of the current football season in Brazil, which concludes in January next year.

To increase the chances of a successful deal, the Brazilian striker has expressed his willingness to forgo a significant portion of his salary owed to Al-Hilal until the end of 2025, which may facilitate the ongoing negotiations.

It is noteworthy that Leonardo joined Al-Hilal in September 2024 in a massive deal worth 40 million euros, with a contract extending until June 2029, making him one of the club's most prominent signings in recent years.

The player has participated in 49 official matches with Al-Hilal, scoring 29 goals and providing three assists; however, the birth system in the Saudi League has prompted the club's management to consider finding a suitable transfer opportunity for him.
