Officially.. Bayern Munich announces the signing of Jackson

Bayern Munich has officially announced the signing of Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea on loan until the end of the 2025/2026 season, and he will wear the number 11 jersey with the Bavarian team.

Jackson said: "I am very happy to join this great club. Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world, and everyone knows its legends and what it represents in terms of success. I have big goals here and I will do everything I can to help the team win more titles."

Jackson began his career at the Casa Sports Academy in Senegal before moving to Villarreal in Spain in 2019, playing on loan at Mirandés before returning in the 2021/2022 season to make his debut in La Liga, scoring 13 goals in 48 official matches with Villarreal before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2023, where he scored 30 goals in 81 matches. He recently won the FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea and also won the UEFA Europa Conference League title last season, and he has 19 international caps with the Senegal national team.

Max Eberl, Bayern's board member for sports affairs, said: "Nicolas was very excited to play with us, and we are very happy to complete the deal. Despite his young age, he has a lot of experience at the highest international levels and has proven his quality. He is energetic and strong, and he is a perfect addition to our attacking plans. He is a player hungry for success and will give our team a strong boost."

For his part, Christoph Freund, Bayern's sporting director, added: "Jackson gives us a new dimension in attack. He has great speed, is dangerous in front of goal, and knows how to move behind the defense for the benefit of the team. He is also an open and positive person and will quickly integrate with the group."

According to media reports, Bayern Munich will pay 16.5 million euros for the loan for one season, with an obligation to buy next summer for 65 million euros.
