Officially.. Liverpool announces the signing of Isak
Liverpool FC has announced the signing of Swedish forward Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, with the player signing contracts after passing medical examinations on the last day of the transfer window.
Isak will wear the number 9 jersey with the English Premier League champions.
After signing the contracts, the player said: "I feel amazing. It has been a long journey to get here, but I am very happy to be part of this great club and everything it represents. I am proud of this step and look forward to starting work and meeting my teammates and the fans."
He added: "I want to win everything. I believe I have a lot to offer, and I want to contribute goals and other things to the team."
The player joined Newcastle in the summer of 2022 from Real Sociedad, and he played 109 matches with the team, scoring 62 goals, including 54 goals in the Premier League, with 23 goals last season to finish as the runner-up to Mohamed Salah in the Golden Boot race.
It is worth noting that the deal cost Liverpool's coffers £130 million, making him the most expensive player in the history of the Premier League.
