Al Hilal Decides the Fate of Brazilian Duo Leonardo and Caio
Monday 01-09-2025
The Al Hilal administration continues to study the future of Brazilian Marcos Leonardo, the first-team football striker, who is awaiting responses to offers made to him from Qatari and other Brazilian clubs, according to special sources for 'Al-Riyadiyah'.

The sources indicated that Leonardo's departure has become inevitable after he could not be registered among the foreign players of 'birth', while the technical staff, led by Italian Simone Inzaghi, has decided to keep his compatriot Caio Cesar in the squad for the new season.

In this context, the Al Hilal administration seeks to finalize two deals for players born in 2004 and above, to strengthen the center-back and goalkeeper positions, which falls under the club's plan to rejuvenate the team.

Al-Riyadiyah - Ajil revealed that the young Turkish defender Yusuf Akcicek (19 years old) is undergoing medical examinations on Monday in Doha in preparation for his transfer to Al Hilal, while the goalkeeper file is still under review before choosing the appropriate name.

If Al Hilal finalizes a deal for a second foreign goalkeeper, it will be the first Saudi club to have two foreign goalkeepers since the opening of contracts with non-Saudi goalkeepers in 2018, reflecting a new direction within the blue team.

For his part, an official source at Al Shabab confirmed that his club's administration requested to sign the Brazilian duo Leonardo and Renan Lodi, but Al Hilal agreed to the transfer of Lodi only, while rejecting the offer to part with Leonardo.

Inzaghi had emphasized in the press conference before the match against Riyadh, which Al Hilal won 2-0, his confidence in the attacking line elements, indicating that the team has an abundance of attacking options with wing players like Malcolm, Salem, and Nunez.
