Saturday 30-08-2025
Nassr achieved a significant victory over their host Al-Akhudud with a score of five goals to two, in the match that brought the two teams together at the Prince Hadhlul bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium as part of the Saudi Roshan League competition.

French striker Karim Benzema opened the scoring early in the fourth minute, followed by Dutch player Steven Bergwijn quickly adding the second goal in the seventh minute, giving Union an ideal start to the match.

Al-Akhudud managed to reduce the deficit through Sebastian Pedroza in the 27th minute, but Saeed Al-Rubaie inadvertently scored an own goal just two minutes later, further extending Union's lead to three goals to one.

In the second half, Benzema continued his brilliance by scoring his second personal goal in the 51st minute, then completed his hat trick in the 60th minute, sealing the match early despite Pedroza's return with a second goal for Al-Akhudud.

The match witnessed the expulsion of two players from the Al-Akhudud team, complicating their efforts to come back, while Naif Asiri reduced the score with a late goal in the 83rd minute, but it was not enough to change the final result.

Statistics showed Union's clear superiority, as they controlled the ball 67% of the time compared to 33% for Al-Akhudud, and took 16 shots, 10 of which were on target, compared to only 7 attempts from the hosts.

With this significant victory, Union strengthens its presence in the Roshan League race early on, while Al-Akhudud faces difficult challenges after falling to the defending champion, increasing the pressure on the team in the upcoming rounds.
