The Iraqi Football Association has set the official date for the start of the Iraqi league for the new season 2025-2026, in a move that confirms the precise organization of the tournament for the first time in its history.

The Director of Media for the Iraqi Stars League, Hussein Al-Kharsani, stated: "The Iraqi Stars League will commence on the scheduled date of September 13, and the new season will witness many qualitative additions in terms of organization and technology."

Al-Kharsani added: "The opening ceremony will take place on September 12, and it will be a grand carnival that will witness a distinguished presence led by a delegation from La Liga Spain, headed by Javier Tebas, along with various activities and events to celebrate the start of the new season."

He clarified that the current season will conclude on May 28 of next year, marking the first time that the end date of the Iraqi league has been predetermined, which contributes to stabilizing the match schedule and facilitates planning for the clubs.

He pointed out that the league will introduce spider camera technology for the first time in Iraqi stadiums, aiming to improve the quality of television broadcasting and better follow tactical events, in line with the highest standards in European competitions.
