Record Decline in Marketing Value of Wydad
Wydad Athletic Club has witnessed the largest drop in its market value in years, following the departure of several of its key players and the signing of players at lower financial values compared to previous seasons.
The market value of Wydad last season reached approximately 2.1 billion dirhams, the highest figure in the history of Moroccan clubs, before it fell this season to only 1.3 billion dirhams, causing the red team to drop to second place behind RS Berkane, which topped the ranking with 1.8 billion dirhams, a record figure that is the highest in the history of the orange club.
Goalkeeper Mehdi Benabid is considered the highest valued player within Wydad, with a value of 1.3 billion dirhams, while the market value of the rest of the players does not exceed 700 million dirhams, including players like Mofid, Al-Raihi, Bart Meyers, Mohamed Boucharou and Al-Zamraoui.
In contrast, RS Berkane features prominent names with high market values, most notably Munir Chouiar, whose value reaches 3 billion dirhams, and Ismail Qandous, whose value is estimated at 2 billion dirhams.
