The Spanish U20 national football team has called up the Moroccan-origin duo Rachad Fattal and Thiago Pitarash to participate in a training camp held in France, in preparation for the Youth World Cup.

The Spanish newspaper Marca revealed that the call-up of the players, who belong to the Real Madrid academy, reflects the success of the Spanish Football Federation in attracting talents of Moroccan origin, at a time when the Royal Moroccan Football Federation is seeking to secure their services in the future.

Rachad Fattal, who transferred this summer from Almería to Real Madrid Castilla for 900,000 euros, has shown impressive levels during the preparation period, which qualified him for a starting position in the reserve team, after previously representing the Moroccan U20 national team in seven matches, during which he scored two goals.

His teammate Thiago Pitarash, of Moroccan descent, chose early on to defend the colors of the Spanish national team, knowing that he has excelled at Real Madrid and has been called up in the last two occasions with the first team.

According to press reports, a Moroccan representative in Spain continues to closely monitor the players, hoping to convince them to represent the 'Atlas Lions' in the future, either with the Olympic team or the first team.

It is noteworthy that European teams have doubled their efforts in recent years to attract dual nationality players, especially after the successes achieved by Morocco at the continental and international levels, and what it has come to represent as an attraction for emerging talents.
