Girona Announces Signing of Moroccan Onahi from Marseille
The Spanish club Girona announced today, Thursday, the completion of the transfer of Moroccan international Azzedine Onahi from Olympique Marseille, in a deal aimed at strengthening the team's midfield amid a troubled start in La Liga.
The Catalan club's management confirmed that the deal is valued at 6 million euros, while Marseille retains 30% of the value of any future transfer for the 24-year-old player.
Girona hopes that Onahi's arrival will provide a strong boost to coach Michel's squad, especially after the team suffered two consecutive defeats, placing them at the bottom of the La Liga standings with zero points.
Onahi is the ninth Moroccan player currently active in La Liga, alongside Abdelkebir Abqar, Elias Akhomach, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, Brahim Diaz, Marwan Sanadi, Omar El Hilali, Youssef Lakhdime, and Younes Abdelhawi, reflecting the increasing presence of Moroccan players in Spanish stadiums.
