Algerian National Team List for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Algerian national team coach Vladimir Petkovic revealed on Thursday the official list of players concerned for the matches against Botswana and Guinea in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers during a press conference held in the "Mohamed Salah" hall at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Baraki (Algiers).

The list includes 26 players, as follows:

Goalkeepers: Ben Bout, Qandouz, Bouhlafaya.

Defense: Ait Nouri, Hjam, Toub, Ben Sabaini, Togay, Mandy, Attal, Qitoun.

Midfield: Zarouki, Ben Taleb, Boudawi, Qabal, Mazza, Aouar.

Forward: Amoura, Ben Rahma, Belaïli, Haj Moussa, Shaibi, Ben Ziya, Gouiri, Bounedjah, Mahrez.

The "Greens" will face the Botswana national team on September 4 at the Hussein Ait Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou (20:00), and will meet Guinea on September 8 in Casablanca (17:00).

The Algerian national team tops Group 7 with 15 points after the sixth round held last March, three points ahead of its closest rival Mozambique (12 points). Botswana and Uganda are tied for third place with 9 points each, followed by Guinea with 7 points, while Somalia sits at the bottom of the standings with only one point.

According to the qualifiers regulations, the leader of each of the nine groups qualifies directly for the 2026 World Cup finals, while the best four runners-up will compete in a continental playoff, followed by an international match to determine the last qualifier for the World Cup.
