What is the Truth About Ali Jassim's Move to the Saudi Roshen League
Wednesday 27-08-2025
The Iraqi national team player and Como FC player, Ali Jassim, responded to his club's request to head to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to complete the transfer procedures to his new team for the upcoming season.

Sources stated: "The player received the green light from the Iraqi Olympic team coach, Imad Mohammed, after being notified by Como FC to proceed immediately to Saudi Arabia, following the successful negotiation of one of the Roshen League clubs to reach an official agreement to sign the player."

They added: "Coach Imad Mohammed encouraged Ali Jassim to take on the experience in the Roshen League, especially with the championship attracting many stars from around the world, which is considered an important opportunity for the player after his last season, which saw limited participation and his loan to Almere City in the Netherlands, affecting his performance."

The sources confirmed: "The player and his agent are keeping the name of the new team confidential, but it is expected that Ali Jassim will sign with Al-Najma FC after passing the medical examination and completing the official procedures. He is expected to arrive in Saudi Arabia this evening, after concluding all negotiations, with only the signing of contracts and his official introduction to the fans remaining."

They added: "Despite his move to Saudi Arabia, Ali Jassim will not participate with the Iraqi national team in the King of Thailand Cup and will not return to Malaysia to join the Iraqi Olympic delegation, as he will later head to Cambodia to participate in the Under-23 Asian qualifiers with the team, which will face Cambodia, Oman, and Pakistan from September 1 to 9."

The sources further stated: "Australian coach Graham Arnold has not changed his decision regarding calling up the player, as he is officially out of Iraq's list for the King of Thailand Cup after the call-up of Bashar Resan, but he will return to the official list for the Asian playoff matches qualifying for the World Cup in October."

It is worth noting that Ali Jassim's contract with Como FC extends until the summer of 2027, after the end of his loan period last season with Almere City in the Netherlands for six months.
