French star Karim Benzema, captain of Al-Ittihad club, emphasized that the team's journey does not stop at last season's achievements, asserting that his ambitions and those of his teammates are greater than the historic double that the team has won.

Benzema explained, in an interview with the Saudi Professional League website, that winning the league title by a comfortable margin and clinching the King's Cup against Al-Qadisiyah was not the end of the journey, but rather a new beginning for more titles and successes.

The veteran striker, who scored two goals in the cup final and 25 goals in all competitions, including 21 in the league, expressed pride in what has been achieved but stressed that continuity and delivering more for Al-Ittihad fans is the most important challenge.

The French star praised the significant role of the fans, saying: "These supporters are the 12th player; their support in Jeddah and beyond gives us double energy, and we reciprocate this love by giving our all on the pitch."

Looking ahead to the new season, Benzema stressed the difficulty of competition as all clubs strengthen their squads, but he pledged to fight until the end to continue winning titles, especially with Al-Ittihad's return to participate in the elite AFC Champions League.

He concluded his remarks by affirming that Saudi football is witnessing rapid development thanks to talented local players and the substantial support from attracting global stars and European coaches, making the future brighter for football in the Kingdom.
