Al-Nassr Puts Kante Under Scrutiny

Wednesday 27-08-2025
The management of Al-Nassr Club has turned its attention to studying the disposal of their Brazilian goalkeeper, Bento Matheus, during the current summer transfer window, due to the coaching staff's dissatisfaction with his performance in the recent Saudi Super Cup.

Al-Nassr lost the Super Cup final to Al-Ahli Jeddah on penalties (5-3) after an exciting draw of (2-2) at Hong Kong International Stadium, which increased the pressure on the Brazilian goalkeeper and convinced the management of the necessity to search for a replacement.

Reports via the "Sport Center" program revealed that Bento may transfer to Al-Shabab Club in the final days of the summer transfer market, which gives Al-Nassr the opportunity to sign a new foreign player to strengthen its squad.

The Al-Nassr management, led by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, is seeking to sign a foreign defensive midfielder, with the name of Frenchman N'Golo Kante, the star midfielder of Al-Ittihad, emerging as a potential option among the list of players being considered for acquisition.

According to press reports, Al-Ittihad Club does not oppose Kante's departure if a suitable offer arrives, while the player's agent has already begun negotiations with several clubs, including French Monaco and Saudi Al-Qadisiyah, awaiting a final decision.
